The Ministry of Commerce has constituted a 10-member sub-committee to assist in the operational activities of the e-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-CAB).
The committee was formed through an office order issued on 26 February 2026 by Dr Md Saif Uddin Ahmed, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Administrator of e-CAB, under the authority granted by Section 18 of the Trade Organisations Act 2022.
Members of the committee
The newly appointed members of the sub-committee are Jannatul Huq, proprietor of Azure Cuisine; Kazi Mukituzzaman, proprietor of Top More; Zia Ashraf, Director of Chaldal Limited; Md Sahab Uddin, managing director of Diabetes Store Limited; and Abdus Salam, Proprietor of London Bazar BD.
The committee also includes Md Nur Islam Babu, proprietor of Khet Khamar; Syed Uchwaat Imam, director of Express in Town Limited; Mohammad Saiful Islam, proprietor of Amar Gadget dot com; Hosne Ara Nuri, proprietor of Nowris Mirror; and Mohammad Anwar Sadat, proprietor of Master Engineering Technology.
Operational guidelines and tenure
According to the office order, the committee’s primary responsibility is to provide support in enhancing coordination with inter-ministerial departments. The order specifies that the committee will be dissolved 15 days before the e-CAB elections are held.
Furthermore, if any member of the committee wishes to contest the upcoming elections, they must submit their resignation to the Administrator on the day following the announcement of the election schedule by the Election Board.
It was also clarified in the order that members of this supporting committee will not receive any financial benefits, salaries, or allowances from e-CAB for their services.
