Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed on Saturday stressed that the country can move forward only through collective effort and unity.
Speaking to journalists after offering Eid prayers at the central Jame Mosque in Pekua Upazila, the minister highlighted the need for cooperation across political, social, and professional sectors to achieve national development.
After the prayers, he exchanged Eid greetings with residents, local leaders, and representatives from various communities. He later inspected the Upazila field and instructed authorities to carry out immediate repairs to improve the site.
Touching upon global issues, Salahuddin Ahmed referenced the recent “Global Fraud Summit 2026” held in Vienna under the United Nations’ initiative, emphasising the importance of international collaboration to combat global fraud.
He also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to Rohingya repatriation, calling for sustained international support to find a lasting solution to the crisis.
The minister concluded his day with a visit to his family graveyard to pay respects to his parents.
Salahuddin Ahmed arrived in Cox’s Bazar on Friday night for a three-day visit, traveling from Cox’s Bazar Airport through Hilltop Circuit House to his ancestral home in Pekua Upazila.
