WrestleMania 42 Night 1 delivered a packed card at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, with world champion Cody Rhodes retaining his title in a chaotic main event against Randy Orton.
The show featured multiple surprise appearances and twists, including cameos from Paige (Saraya) and Bron Breakker, as well as celebrity involvement from John Cena and Jelly Roll.
The main event saw Cody Rhodes overcome a heavily disrupted contest involving interference, near falls and multiple RKO sequences before sealing victory. Orton’s post-match attack, including a banned punt kick, closed the night on a dramatic note.
Elsewhere on the card, Liv Morgan captured a world title in a high-energy match involving outside interference, while Gunther secured a key victory over Seth Rollins in a physical, hard-fought contest.
One of the biggest surprises came in the women’s tag team division, where a last-minute change saw Paige step in to team with Brie Bella, leading to a title win following an injury withdrawal by Nikki Bella.
The event also featured Jacob Fatu defeating Drew McIntyre in an unsanctioned match, while The Vision’s multi-man bout involving internet personality iShowSpeed ended in chaos after a dramatic turn on Logan Paul.
With an attendance of over 50,000, Night 1 mixed high-profile storytelling, celebrity moments and surprise twists, setting the stage for Night 2 of WrestleMania 42.
