Two cocktail explosions occurred within a span of 10 minutes in front of the Manikganj Deputy Commissioner’s office and the District Council on Monday.
According to police and eyewitnesses, miscreants carried out the explosions at around 7pm and fled the scene immediately afterwards.
Eyewitnesses said a cocktail exploded with a loud bang at around 7:05 pm in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office and the Government Boys’ High School field.
Several rickshaw pullers and pedestrians said the cocktail was thrown from a CNG auto-rickshaw heading towards Beutha from the Manikganj bus stand, triggering an instant explosion.
About 10 minutes later, another cocktail exploded in front of the District Council, eyewitnesses said.
No injuries were reported in either incident.
Manikganj Sadar Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Md Aminul Islam said police reached the scene immediately after receiving the information and efforts are underway to identify and arrest those involved.
