Bangladesh’s leading OTT platform Chorki has announced a diverse slate of four original releases for August, promising viewers a mix of political drama, family storytelling, comedy and surreal fiction throughout the month.
According to a press release, the streaming platform will premiere one new title every week, offering audiences a range of genres and storytelling styles.
The August lineup begins on 6 August with Ekhane Rajnoitik Alap Joruri, directed by Ahmed Hasan Sunny.
The political drama, which was released in cinemas earlier this year, will make its exclusive streaming debut on Chorki.
The film stars Imtiaz Barshan, Azad Abul Kalam, A.K. Azad Shetu, Keya Al Jannah and Tanvir Apurbo, and is produced by Khalid Mahbub Turjo.
On 13 August, Chorki will release its original feature Rongin Shurma, directed by Md Reazul Hoque Imran.
Starring veteran actors Afzal Hossain and Afsana Mimi, the family drama follows the story of an enduring marriage shaped by a single lie and a series of heartfelt letters.
The third release, Faisha Gesi, arrives on 20 August.
Directed by Mahmudur Rahman Hime, the comedy stars Sabila Nur, Dibya Jyoti, Arfan Mredha Shiblu and Corovi Mizan.
Produced jointly by Alpha-i and Chorki, the flash fiction follows an Uber driver whose encounters with unusual passengers blur the line between opportunity and crime.
Closing the month’s lineup is Paint on Dry Leaf, premiering on 27 August.
Directed by Fuaduzzaman Fuad, the drama features Imtiaz Barshan and Quazi Nawshaba Ahmed in a surreal narrative exploring love, hope and humanity’s determination to survive despite overwhelming odds.
Commenting on the monthly slate, Chorki Chief Executive Officer Redoan Rony said the platform has intentionally curated content from different genres.
“Viewers will get four stories from four different genres throughout August, including political philosophy, drama and comedy. We also have plans to release content from different genres in September. We hope audiences will enjoy the lineup,” he said.
All four titles will be available for streaming on Chorki’s official website and mobile application.
