A delegation from the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), led by Vice President Zhou Pingjian, met with senior members of the National Citizen Party (NCP) during an official visit to Bangladesh.
The CPIFA team included Zhao Yongguo, Director of the Department of Asian, African and Latin American Affairs, Wang Xu, Executive Deputy Director of the Center for South Asian Studies at Peking University, Zhang Li, Staff of the Department of Asian, African and Latin American Affairs, CPIFA, and Liu Hongru, Political Attaché to Chinese Embassy in Dhaka.
Among others, NCP was represented by Nasiruddin Patwary, Alauddin Mohammad, Mahabub Alam, and Tahsin Riaz.
During the discussions, both parties focused on the political landscape in Bangladesh, the forthcoming national elections, and the role of the July Charter in facilitating the country’s democratic progress.
They also exchanged perspectives on strengthening China–Bangladesh party-to-party relations, emphasising the mutual interest in expanding cooperation and fostering a deeper understanding between the two nations.
The CPIFA delegation also paid a visit to the NCP Head Office, where they were welcomed by Nahid Islam, Convenor of the NCP.
Islam expressed his gratitude for the visit, thanking the CPIFA delegation for engaging with the NCP leadership.
The CPIFA delegation, in return, appreciated the warm reception and expressed hope for continued collaboration in the future.
The meeting reinforced both parties’ commitment to promoting dialogue, enhancing cooperation, and working towards a prosperous and stable future for Bangladesh and the wider region.
