China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi and India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar have congratulated Bangladesh Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman on his appointment, according to a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday.
Wang Yi, who is also a Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China, expressed his intention to work closely with Rahman.
He expressed hope to jointly implement the important understandings reached by the leaders of the two countries and take the China–Bangladesh Comprehensive Strategic Partnership to new heights.
India’s Jaishankar also conveyed his congratulations and said he looked forward to working with Khalilur Rahman. He expressed his interest in advancing Bangladesh–India cooperation for mutual progress and prosperity.
