Ten-man Chelsea battled to a hard-earned 1–1 draw against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge, showing impressive resilience after Moisés Caicedo was sent off late in the first half.
Arsenal controlled much of the early possession, while Chelsea posed a threat on the break. The intensity of the contest was clear from the outset, with Marc Cucurella and Martín Zubimendi both cautioned inside the opening stages.
The match shifted dramatically in the 38th minute. Caicedo’s late challenge on Mikel Merino was upgraded to a straight red card following a VAR review, leaving the hosts with a daunting task for the remainder of the evening.
Despite the setback, Chelsea struck first. Just three minutes into the second half, Trevoh Chalobah glanced in a clever near-post header from a corner, sending Stamford Bridge into full voice and giving the Blues a surprise lead.
