With Eid-ul-Azha approaching, the Industrial Police Chattogram has called on factory owners and stakeholders to ensure timely payment of workers’ salaries, bonuses and leave benefits across industrial zones, said Superintendent of Industrial Police Mahmuda Begum at a views-exchange meeting on Wednesday.

The meeting, held at the BGMEA conference room and chaired by Mahmuda Begum, was attended by BGMEA First Vice President Selim Rahman, directors, representatives of Chittagong Metropolitan Police, BKMEA, Bangladesh Bank, Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments, NSI, DGFI, Department of Labour, and labour leaders, factory owners and their representatives. Discussions focused on prompt wage and bonus disbursement, managing Eid holidays, and travel arrangements.

Mahmuda Begum said all salaries must be paid within the stipulated time and Eid bonuses disbursed before 25 May. She added that Industrial Police mobile patrols would be intensified and urged CMP mobile teams to take a more active role during the festive period. Factory owners and labour representatives assured cooperation to maintain peace and timely payments, she said.
