Chattogram City FC secured promotion to the Bangladesh Football League on Wednesday after a 2-1 win over Chittagong Abahani in the Bangladesh Championship League, sealing their place with three matches remaining through a consistent points lead. The result confirmed their rise in their first season at this level.
Chattogram City built their campaign on sustained results across the league. They collected 36 points from 15 matches with 11 wins, three draws and one defeat. This return placed them nine points clear of City Club and 13 ahead of Dhaka Wanderers Club, both of whom still have four matches to play.
The club has progressed steadily since its formation as Chittagong Boys Club in 2010. It entered the second tier this season and moved directly into promotion contention. Leadership under Syed Saiful Islam has supported structured development and squad building.
Chattogram City will become the third club from the port city to reach the top tier if licensing is approved, joining Chittagong Abahani and Chittagong Mohammedan.
