Rajshahi Stars maintained their winning momentum in the Women’s Football League as Rituparna Chakma earned player of the match honours in a game she captained. Although she failed to score in the opening two matches of the league, the national team star struck twice in the third and found the net once again on Tuesday.
Rajshahi produced a dominant performance, thrashing Ansar 8–0. Reshmi led the scoring with a brace, while Rituparna Chakma, Alpi Akter, Munki Akter, Shaheda Akter Ripa, Puja and Saurabhi Akand Priti each added a goal. Rajshahi went into the break with a 3–0 lead.
Rituparna’s goal came in the 63rd minute when she received the ball from Alpi and, after her initial effort was blocked, struck a left-footed shot from outside the box on the second attempt. She also led the side as captain in the match.
Five matches were played on Tuesday, with Bangladesh Army, Rajshahi and Farashganj all securing expected victories. In the day’s third fixture, Farashganj cruised to a 7–0 win over Rangpur-based Sadyapushkarini, inspired by a hat-trick from Shamsunnahar. Shamsunnahar Chhoto scored four goals, while Nepal’s Puja Rana, Shamsunnahar Senior and Anamika Tripura contributed one each.
Earlier in the day, Bangladesh Army defeated Dhaka Rangers 7–0, with Unnati Khatun scoring four goals. Zaynab Bibi Rita struck twice, while the remaining goal came from Mosammat Sultana. In the opening match, Nasrin’s side overwhelmed Kacharipara XI 9–1. Poppy Rani scored five goals, Asma Khatun completed a hat-trick, and Mosammat Soma Akter added another. Soheli Sharmin netted the lone goal for Kacharipara.
In the final match of the day, Bangladesh Police Football Club edged Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP) 1–0, with Irene Akter scoring the decisive goal.
