Canadian Artemis II astronaut Jeremy Hansen has praised the space thriller “Project Hail Mary”, featuring Ryan Gosling, as his crew travels nearly 230,000 kilometres from Earth.

Hansen, who is currently on a lunar flyby mission, shared during a televised event hosted by the Canadian Space Agency that he and his fellow crew members watched the film with their families on Saturday, reports AP.

He described the experience as “a true delight” as he prepared for his journey into orbit.

Gosling, who is also Canadian, extended warm wishes to the four crew members prior to their launch on Wednesday. Reflecting on the film, Hansen remarked, “Life mirrors art, and art mirrors life”.

“I found it incredibly inspiring – someone who steps up and does whatever it takes to protect humanity,” Hansen said. He added that the story provides a “remarkable model” for others to look up to.

Hansen is set to make history during this mission as the first astronaut from outside United States to travel to the Moon.
