The cabinet of the BNP government, led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, has been reshuffled once again.
On Wednesday, the prime minister carried out the redistribution of portfolios in accordance with the Rules of Business, with the Cabinet Division subsequently issuing a gazette notification regarding the changes.
According to the notification, one ministry has been withdrawn from Mohammad Aminur Rashid, who had previously been in charge of three departments.
Until this reshuffle, Rashid was overseeing the Ministries of Food, Fisheries and Livestock, and Agriculture. Following the redistribution, he will now remain responsible for the Ministries of Fisheries and Livestock, and Agriculture.
In contrast, State Minister for Public Administration Abdul Bari has been assigned responsibility for an additional ministry. He has been given charge of the Ministry of Food in addition to his existing duties in the Ministry of Public Administration.
The current administration was formed after a landslide victory in the 13th parliamentary election, with a 50-member cabinet led by BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman being sworn in on February 17.
Overall, the cabinet under Prime Minister Tarique Rahman now comprises 49 members. Excluding the Prime Minister, this includes 25 full ministers and 23 state ministers. Additionally, there are 10 advisers to the Prime Minister who hold the status of ministers or state ministers.
