Export and import activities through the Burimari land port in Lalmonirhat will remain suspended for eight days from Monday (May 25) on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha.
The suspension will continue until 1 June, with trade operations scheduled to resume on 2 June, said Faruk Hossain, president of the Burimari C&F Agents Association.
He said the decision was taken at a joint meeting between traders’ organisations of the Burimari land port in Bangladesh and the Changrabandha land port in India, where the holiday schedule was finalised.
However, passenger movement for passport holders will remain normal during the holiday period, confirmed Burimari Immigration Sub-Inspector Saifur Rahman.
