Two of the country’s leading industrial groups, BSRM Group of Companies and Kazi Farms Limited, have donated a total of Tk5.87 crore to the Bangladesh Sramik Kalyan Foundation Fund, officials said on Sunday.
Separate delegations from the two companies handed over the cheques to Labour and Employment Minister Ariful Haque Chowdhury at his office chamber.
BSRM Group of Companies provided a cheque for Tk3.08 crore. A specific portion of dividends earned from the company’s Workers’ Profit Participation Fund was given to the foundation.

A three-member delegation led by Md Rabiul Husain, Head of Human Resources of BSRM Group, handed over the cheque to the minister.
Kazi Farms Limited handed over another cheque for Tk 2.78 crore thousand on the same day.
A six-member delegation led by Director of Kazi Farms Limited Kazi Zahin Shahpar Hasan presented the cheque in favour of the Workers’ Welfare Foundation.
The cheque handover ceremony was attended by Labour and Employment Ministry Secretary Md Abdur Rahman Tarafder, Deputy Secretary Syed Irtiza Ahsan, and other senior officials.
