The Bangladesh Semiconductor Industry Association (BSIA) held a series of meetings and industry events in South Korea on Tuesday to strengthen cooperation in semiconductor design, packaging, talent development and advanced engineering services.
The Seoul roadshow is part of Bangladesh’s broader “Silicon River” strategy aimed at building a domestic semiconductor ecosystem through global partnerships and workforce development, BSIA said in a statement.
BSIA began the programme with strategic discussions with SK hynix officials on semiconductor packaging, skills development and future collaboration opportunities.
Representatives from BSIA member firms — including Dynamic Solution Innovators, Prime Silicon Technology, Siliconova, Ulkasemi and Neural Semiconductor — later met Korean design house SuperGate to explore cooperation in chip design, verification, embedded systems and AI-focused semiconductor technologies.
The delegation also held bilateral talks with the Korea Semiconductor Industry Association (KSIA), focusing on talent development, research collaboration and a proposed 15-nation semiconductor alliance aimed at strengthening global supply chain resilience and ecosystem cooperation.
According to BSIA, KSIA acknowledged Bangladesh’s growing engineering talent base and strategic potential in the semiconductor sector.
The programme concluded with a banquet reception jointly organised by BSIA and the Bangladesh Embassy in Seoul, attended by industry leaders, researchers and policymakers from both countries.
BSIA President M A Jabbar and Bangladesh Ambassador to South Korea Toufiq Islam Shatil addressed the event alongside KSIA representatives.
Purdue University Professor Muhammad Mustafa Hussain presented Bangladesh’s semiconductor packaging vision, while SK hynix Vice President Changhyun Kim shared insights into Korea’s packaging technology development.
BSIA also invited Korean industry leaders to participate in the BEAR Summit 2026 scheduled to be held in Dhaka on 25-26 July.
