The Bangladesh Professional Golfers’ Association (BPGA) held the opening qualifying round of its inaugural Chief of Army Staff (CAS) Cup Professional Golf Tournament 2026 at Jolshiri Golf Club in Narayanganj on Wednesday, with 107 golfers competing from 7am.
Dil Mohammad sits at the top of the leaderboard after the morning session, carding a four-under-par 68. Md Nazim Hosain and Mohammad Sayum are joint second, each posting a two-under 70.
The field of 107 includes 82 professional golfers, 8 national team members, 8 junior division players, 4 Bangladesh Army golfers, and 5 associate members of the BPGA. The Daily Times of Bangladesh serves as media sponsor for the event.
Prominent names Siddikur Rahman and Jamal Hossain are both in the field but had not completed their rounds at the time of reporting.
The BPGA organises the CAS Cup for the first time. Wednesday and Thursday serve as qualifying rounds, with each golfer completing 18 holes per day over a par-72 layout. The final round takes place on Friday.
Jamal Hossain won the 2nd Army Golf Club Professional Golf Tournament in May 2025, and Siddikur Rahman remains Bangladesh’s most decorated professional golfer internationally, making their presence in this field one of the headline draws.
