The Bangladesh Open University (BOU) Nationalist Teachers’ Forum has formed a 15-member executive committee for the 2026–2027 to 2027–2028 biennial term at the university, said in a press release issued on 29 June 2026.
Prof Md Anisur Rahman was elected president and Prof Dr Md Abu Taleb was elected general secretary of the newly formed committee, which is expected to guide the forum’s organisational activities and academic positions during the term.
The committee includes vice-presidents Prof Dr Md Abdul Majid Mondol and Prof Amirul Islam, joint general secretary Associate Prof Dr Md Zakir Hossain Talukder, treasurer Prof Dr Md Mohammad Zahir Raihan, office and publicity secretary Prof Dr Md AKM Ashraful Alam, organisational secretary Associate Prof Md Mahfuzur Rahman, and research and cultural secretary Associate Prof Sakiba Ferdousi.
Executive members are Prof Dr Rafsan Mahmud, Associate Prof Dr Md Abdur Sobahan, Assistant Prof Md Sabbir Hossain, Lecturer Md Morsalinur Rashid, Lecturer Md Anisur Rahman, and Lecturer Mst Zarin Tasnim Munifa.
The forum said the new leadership is committed to building a student-friendly, democratic, research-oriented and compassionate academic environment at Bangladesh Open University. It also pledged to strengthen teaching quality, protect teachers’ professional dignity, enhance research activity and advance overall academic development.
The newly elected leaders thanked teachers for their support and said they would work collectively to transform BOU into a modern, knowledge-based, research-driven and humane institution.
