Police in Gazipur have recovered the bound dead body of a security guard from a mobile phone tower in Pubail.
The victim, 65-year-old Mir Altab Hossain, was found on Monday morning at the tower room in the Meghdubi Doktarbari area.
Altab Hossain, the son of the late Mir Kazimuddin of Meghdubi, had long served as the security guard for the Banglalink network tower.
Family and police sources said officials from the tower-operating company contacted Altab Hossain’s family after failing to locate him in the morning. His son, Sabuj, discovered his father’s hands and feet bound body at the site and alerted the police.
Pubail police station officer-in-charge Molla Md Khalid Hasan said, “We have inspected the scene and are investigating all angles. The body has been sent to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.”
The motive for the killing remains unknown, and no arrests have been made. Police have launched an investigation to identify the perpetrators and establish the circumstances behind the murder.
