BNP on Thursday urged the interim government and the Election Commission to hold the national elections as soon as possible.
Speaking at a press briefing after an emergency meeting of the party’s Standing Committee, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that the meeting thanked the chief adviser for his recent remarks on holding the national polls and the referendum on the same day.
BNP’s Standing Committee also called for holding both the national election and the referendum on the same day as soon as possible, so that the people can give their consent on the July National Charter.
