BNP Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan has been admitted to Evercare Hospital in the capital.
Hospital authorities have requested that visitors refrain from meeting him for the time being on medical advice.
According to family members, Nazrul Islam Khan returned to Dhaka from Singapore on 25 June.
As his health condition did not improve, he was later admitted to Evercare Hospital in Bashundhara Residential Area on Tuesday.
Following news of his hospitalisation, several party supporters and well-wishers gathered at the hospital gate to inquire about his condition.
Earlier in the day, BNP leader and MP Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas visited the hospital and spoke with doctors regarding his treatment and current health status.
Doctors have advised that relatives and party leaders should avoid visiting him for now to ensure proper medical care and recovery.
