Biman Bangladesh Airlines has suspended its Director of Administration and Human Resources Mizanur Rashid following ongoing controversy over allegations of corruption and irregularities.
The decision, signed by Managing Director and CEO Kaizer Sohail Ahmed, will take effect from Wednesday. The suspension has been issued under Section 58 of the Bangladesh Biman Corporation Employees (Service) Regulations, 1979.
During the suspension period, Mizanur Rashid will continue to receive his salary and allowances and has been instructed to remain at his current residence.
Copies of the suspension order have been circulated to Biman’s Deputy Managing Director, all directors, general managers, deputy general managers, managers, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors to ensure necessary compliance.
Earlier, Mizanur Rashid’s recent promotion to director sparked widespread criticism within the airline due to his alleged involvement in irregularities.
The promotion was revoked within hours amid the backlash.
The latest suspension marks a decisive administrative action in response to the ongoing controversy surrounding his conduct.
