The Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) has launched a professional day care service at its headquarters, Biniyog Bhaban, for the children of its officials and employees, as well as those working in other offices within the building.
The service is part of BIDA’s efforts to foster a family-friendly work environment and enhance institutional excellence.
Today, BIDA signed an agreement with Little Ducklings, a division of Dhaka Ahsania Mission, to manage the day care centre.
The service will provide professional childcare, including early childhood education, in a secure and hygienic setting.
BIDA Executive Chairman Ashik Chowdhury praised Dhaka Ahsania Mission for its long-standing commitment to social welfare. He emphasized the service’s role in supporting working parents, especially mothers.
“This is an important step towards creating a women-friendly office culture,” he said.
He also highlighted that the fee structure is designed to be affordable, with subsidized rates for lower-income employees, offering peace of mind to parents while they work.
Initially launched in November 2024 under BIDA’s internal management, the day care service has now been upgraded to a fully professional model with Little Ducklings managing operations.
The enhanced facility includes a full-time superintendent, two trained caregivers for every four children, and a strong focus on comprehensive care and early childhood development.
Currently, 10 to 11 children are enrolled, including those of officials from BIDA, the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA), and the National Skills Development Authority (NSDA).
To ensure consistent service delivery, BIDA has developed its own operational guidelines, the “BIDA Day Care Centre Guideline 2024,” which outlines service standards and management protocols.
