Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered a locally made pistol and two cartridges in a special operation along the border on Wednesday in Cox’s Bazar.
The seizure was made during an anti-smuggling operation by a special patrol team of the Ghumdhum BOP under the 34th BGB Battalion at around 5:30am.
Lieutenant Colonel S M Khairul Alam, commanding officer of the battalion, confirmed the recovery.
He said the unclaimed pistol and cartridges were found abandoned near the Kakra Railway Bridge area inside Bangladesh, close to border pillar 31.
The recovered weapons and ammunition have been handed over to the local police after filing a case for legal proceedings.
