Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has been deployed in five districts across the country to maintain internal law and order and address potential security risks, according to a press release issued on Monday.
On the instructions of the Ministry of Home Affairs, BGB personnel will perform duties in Cox’s Bazar, Madaripur, Sherpur, Gazipur, and Moulvibazar districts in coordination with concerned district administrations and law enforcement agencies.
The deployment will remain in effect from Monday evening until 30 June 2026.
Additionally, BGB members will remain on standby for immediate deployment in other districts of the country as and when required, the press release stated.
The border guard force reiterated its readiness to maintain law and order, ensure public safety, and address any situation related to national interests.
The deployment comes amid ongoing security measures across the country, with authorities working to prevent any untoward incidents and maintain public order.
