Bengal Commercial Bank has entered a partnership with airline Air Astra for the payment of VAT, tax, and other government revenues using the bank’s Automated Challan System. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the two organisations on Wednesday, 10 December 2025, at the bank’s head office in Gulshan, Dhaka.
Tarik Morshed, managing director & CEO of Bengal Commercial Bank, and Imran Asif, chief executive officer of Air Astra, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations. Senior officials from both entities attended the ceremony said in a press release.
Present from Bengal Commercial Bank were KM Awlad Hossain, additional managing director & CBO; Dr Md Rafiqul Islam, DMD & CTO; and Md Humayun Kabir, FCS, DMD & company secretary. Air Astra was represented by Md Shafiul Asgar, chief financial officer, and Istiak Uddin Ahmad, manager of the Corporate Branch.
The bank stated the strategic partnership would enable it to deliver timely and contemporary banking services.
