The match timings for Bangladesh’s series against New Zealand have been changed. The Bangladesh Cricket Board took this step to reduce electricity use during the ongoing global energy crisis.
All ODI matches will now start at 11 am. The series will begin on April 17. These games were earlier planned as day night matches.
After the ODIs, the two teams will play a T20I series. All T20 matches will also be held in daylight. Each match will start at 2 pm.
The decision came after a meeting of the BCB’s ad hoc committee on Wednesday. BCB president Tamim Iqbal later spoke about it at a press conference.
He said, “To save electricity, we are changing the timing of the New Zealand series. ODI matches can start at 11 or 11:30, and T20 matches at 2 or 2:30.”
