The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced on Wednesday that two eminent legal professionals, Professor Dr Naima Huq and Barrister Muhammed Mustafizur Rahman Khan, have been included in the inquiry committee formed to investigate allegations of misconduct in women’s cricket.
Professor Dr Naima Huq is the former Chair of the Department of Law at the University of Dhaka and a current Member of the Law Commission of Bangladesh. Barrister Muhammed Mustafizur Rahman Khan is a Senior Advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh.
Following their inclusion, the committee now comprises:
- Justice Tariq ul Hakim, Former Judge, Appellate Division, Supreme Court of Bangladesh – Chairman
- Professor Dr Naima Huq, Former Chair, Department of Law, University of Dhaka & Member, Law Commission – Member
- Barrister Sarwat Siraj Shukla, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court & President, Bangladesh Women’s Sports Association – Member
- Barrister Muhammed Mustafizur Rahman Khan, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court – Member
- Ms Rubaba Dowla, Director, BCB – Member
The committee has been tasked with conducting a thorough investigation into the recent allegations of misconduct in women’s cricket and will submit its findings to the BCB.
