Barishal Division won the 11th Development Cup Football Tournament (U-15 Boys) 2026, defeating Rangpur Division 1-0 in the final at the Government Physical Education College ground in Mohammadpur, Dhaka, the Department of Sports said in a press release. The three-day tournament featured all eight divisions, with Rangpur finishing as runners-up.
Youth and Sports Secretary Md Mahbub-Ul-Alam attended the closing ceremony as chief guest and presented prizes to the winners, the press release said. Additional Secretary (Sports-2 Wing) Md Mahfuzul Alam Khan attended as special guest, while the programme was presided over by Md Mahbubur Rahman, Director (Youth Services) of the Department of Sports.
The tournament, organised under the Ministry of Youth and Sports, aims to promote youth participation in football and strengthen grassroots sports development across Bangladesh. Barishal’s victory highlights the division’s emerging talent in under-15 football and reinforces regional competitive standards in national youth tournaments.
