Barcelona ended their preseason with a 2-1 win over Al Ahly to lift the Joan Gamper Trophy at Spotify Camp Nou.
Hamza Abdelkarim and Raphinha scored for Barcelona in the first half. Zizo pulled one back for Al Ahly after the break, but the Spanish champions held on for the win.
The match took place after Barcelona presented their 2026/27 squad in front of 54,224 fans. Coach Hansi Flick and captain Raphinha spoke to the crowd before kick off. The club also introduced its new signings.
Barcelona controlled the game from the start. They pressed high and kept Al Ahly under pressure.
Raphinha came close from distance before Barcelona opened the scoring in the 29th minute. He combined with Alejandro Balde, who moved towards the byline and found Abdelkarim inside the box.
The Egyptian forward finished with his first touch to make it 1-0. It was his fourth goal of preseason and his first at Spotify Camp Nou. Abdelkarim did not celebrate against his former club.
Barcelona continued to create chances. Xavi Espart had an effort cleared off the line before Raphinha doubled the lead just before half time.
The Brazilian won a penalty after reacting quickly to a loose ball inside the box. He then scored from the spot to give Barcelona a 2-0 lead.
Flick made six changes at the break, with Dani Olmo and Anthony Gordon among those coming on.
Al Ahly responded in the 51st minute. They launched a quick counterattack before Zizo controlled the ball and beat Joan Garcia to reduce the gap.
Barcelona continued to push for another goal. Gordon found the net, but the goal was ruled out for a foul by Abdelkarim in the build up.
Gordon later forced goalkeeper Mohamed El Shenawy into a good save. Karim Adeyemi also came close twice.
Barcelona had another chance from the penalty spot in the 89th minute after Gordon won the foul. However, El Shenawy saved the Englishman’s effort.
The miss did not change the result as Barcelona held on for a 2-1 victory and lifted the Gamper Trophy.
The win also brought Barcelona’s preseason to an end. They will begin their La Liga title defence away to Elche on Monday.
