Bangladesh will begin their women’s football campaign at the 2026 Asian Games against three time champions North Korea after the tournament schedule was announced.
Bangladesh had already been placed in Group C. Their first match will be against North Korea on September 14.
Peter James Butler’s side will then face South Korea on September 17 before taking on Myanmar three days later.
All of Bangladesh’s group matches will be played at Nagai Stadium in Osaka.
This will be Bangladesh’s second appearance in the women’s football event at the Asian Games.
Their only previous campaign came at the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, where they were eliminated in the group stage after one draw and two defeats.
Bangladesh suffered an 8-0 loss to Japan in their opening match before going down 6-1 to Vietnam.
They earned their only point against Nepal. The team, led by Sabina Khatun, took the lead but eventually settled for a 1-1 draw.
The 20th Asian Games will begin on September 1 in Aichi and Nagoya, Japan.
