Bangladesh Women’s National Football Team continued their Asian Cup build-up on Wednesday with a closed-door friendly against Western Sydney Wanderers FC at the club’s Field 3 training ground in Sydney, kicking off at 4:00pm local time. The match formed part of the Tigresses’ ongoing preparation camp in Australia. The coaching staff used the setting to balance experimentation with control.

Bangladesh approached the game as a working session rather than a spectacle. They rotated the squad, tested different shapes and measured how players followed instructions under pressure. Facing an A-League Women side gave the session an edge that training alone cannot replicate.

The coaches focused on tactical discipline while allowing freedom within structure. Players switched roles and combinations, which helped the staff gauge adaptability and match readiness. The closed-door nature kept the emphasis on learning, not results.

Recovery now takes centre stage. The squad will skip field training on Thursday and move into a swimming pool recovery session at Valentine Sports Park. The staff want fresh legs and clear minds as the schedule tightens.

Bangladesh will shift to the AFC-designated hotel on Thursday. Their Asian Cup journey starts against reigning champions China on 3 March, before meetings with North Korea in Sydney on 6 March and Uzbekistan in Perth on 9 March at the AFC Women’s Asian Cup.
