Several Bangladesh women’s cricketers have improved their ICC ODI rankings following individual performances in the series against Sri Lanka, even as the team lost the three-match series 2-1 at home.
In the batting rankings, captain Nigar Sultana Joty climbed three places to 35th after scoring 40 off 90 balls in the third ODI. Sobhana Mostary was the standout mover among the batters, rising five places to 45th on the back of a fine 74 off 80 balls in the same match. Ritu Moni also made notable progress, jumping eight places to 83rd after contributing 20 off 16 balls. Sharmin Akhter Supta remains the highest-ranked Bangladeshi batter overall but slipped five places to 27th. India’s Smriti Mandhana retained her position at the top of the batting rankings.
Among the bowlers, Nahida Akter continues to lead the way for Bangladesh, moving up two places to 11th. Marufa Akter was the biggest climber in the bowling charts, rising six places to 37th. Sultana Khatun made an impressive leap of 16 places to reach 44th, while Ritu Moni gained two more places to sit at 100th. Rabeya Khan dropped four places to 24th and Fahima Khatun fell one place to 32nd. Australia’s Alana King held on to the top spot among bowlers globally.
Sri Lanka’s Nimasha Meepage was the most dramatic mover in the rankings, surging 71 places to 90th in the bowling charts. Captain Chamari Athapaththu climbed one place to ninth in the ODI all-rounder rankings and rose seven places to 34th among bowlers. Her compatriot Harshitha Samarawickrama moved up three places to 20th among batters.
