The Bangladesh Under 20 women’s team trained hard in tough heat in Bangkok on Friday morning. The session took place at the Alpine Training Camp. The weather was hot and humid, but the players kept their focus. Their target is clear. They want to put up a strong fight against China on Saturday at Rajamangala Stadium.
The training lasted for 90 minutes, from 9:00 am to 10:30 am. Head coach Peter Butler focused on fixing mistakes from the last match against Thailand. Bangladesh will play their second group match of the AFC U 20 Asian Cup on Saturday afternoon.
Bangladesh lost 3-2 to Thailand in the first match. Still, the team took confidence from their first half performance. They had taken a 2-0 lead before things went wrong. Defensive errors and two penalties cost them the match. The coach worked on those issues in detail. He focused on defensive shape and proper positioning. The team also worked on how to defend set pieces better. All players are fit. The coach has all 23 players available for selection.
Captain Arpita Biswas spoke with confidence after training. She said, “We have already played one match and today the coach helped us correct our mistakes. We had some problems with positioning and shape. We also worked on our finishing.” She added, “China are a strong team, but we are ready to fight.”
Goalkeeping coach Masud Ahmed said the team has adjusted to the weather. He said, “We have been here for a few days and the girls have adapted. The coach worked on our technical and tactical problems from the last match. We want to reduce mistakes. China are a top team, so we are focusing on defense and set pieces.”
China come into the match with strong form. They beat Vietnam 3-0 in their first game. Zheng Lu scored twice, and Zheng Yujia added another goal. Their attack will be a big test for Bangladesh.
Bangladesh know this match is very important. A good result can keep their hopes alive for the next round. The team now waits for a tough contest in Bangkok.
