Bangladesh Under-19 have shown strong form in the Asia Cup. They won all three group matches and reached the semifinals with confidence.
On Friday, they face Pakistan Under-19 in the semifinal. The winner will book a place in the final.
The match was set to begin at 11:00 am Bangladesh time at the Seven Stadium in Dubai. Rain delayed the start and the toss took place four hours later than planned.
Conditions improved later in the day. The ground became ready for play. Pakistan won the toss at around 3:00 pm and chose to field first.
Because of the rain delay, the match was shortened. Both teams will bat for 27 overs.
There is still a chance of more rain. If the match cannot be completed, the rules will decide the finalist.
Under ICC rules, each side must face at least 20 overs in a one day match for a result. If that does not happen, Bangladesh will move into the final as group stage winners.
