Bangladesh captain Litton Das won the toss and chose to bowl in the second T20I of the three-match series against the Netherlands at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Monday.
The first encounter between the two sides saw Bangladesh dominate across all departments. After being put in to bat, the Netherlands struggled to find momentum as the hosts’ seamers, led by Taskin Ahmed, applied relentless pressure. Taskin delivered a standout performance with figures of 4 for 28, marking his third-best return in T20 internationals.
Bangladesh’s response with the bat was equally commanding. Openers Parvez Hossain Emon and Tanzid Hasan Tamim made an explosive start, scoring 25 runs in the first two overs. This set the platform for a controlled chase, with Litton Das continuing his fine form and Saif Hassan contributing a brisk cameo.
For the Netherlands, the batters managed a few starts but failed to establish any meaningful partnerships. Questions were raised over the timing of introducing left-arm spinner Tim Pringle, who found turn and control but was perhaps underutilised.
Bangladesh made two changes to their playing XI for the second match. Tanzim Hasan Sakib came in for Shoriful Islam, while Nasum Ahmed replaced Rishad Hossain.
The Netherlands made one change, bringing in Sikander Zulfiqar in place of Tim Pringle.
