The MoU was signed in Tokyo on February 6 between the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and the Ministry of the Environment, according to a handout issued on Sunday.
Bangladesh Ambassador to Japan Md Daud Ali and Japanese Vice Minister for the Environment Kentaro Doi signed the memorandum on behalf of their respective governments.
The agreement seeks to strengthen collaboration in priority areas including climate change mitigation and adaptation, pollution prevention, waste management and biodiversity conservation.
Under the MoU, both sides will facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience and expand technical cooperation, subject to mutual consent.
