Bangladesh ended their CAVA Cup Men’s Volleyball 2025 campaign in fourth place after falling to Sri Lanka in the bronze medal match at the Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka, on Tuesday.

Sri Lanka claimed a straight-set victory (25–20, 25–23, 25–20) to secure third place, handing Bangladesh their first 3–0 defeat of the tournament.

The opening set saw Sri Lanka take control early, maintaining their composure to close it 25–20. The second set produced a tighter contest, with Bangladesh fighting hard to level the score, but Sri Lanka edged it 25–23 to go two sets up. In the third, the island nation continued their dominance and sealed the win 25–20 to clinch the bronze.

The result marked a reversal of their previous encounter on 24 October, when Bangladesh had beaten Sri Lanka 3–2 in the round-robin stage. Despite the disappointment, Bangladesh finished with valuable experience and moments of promise throughout the tournament.

Elsewhere, in the fifth-place playoff, Nepal defeated the Maldives 3–1 (29–27, 25–20, 35–37, 25–20) to take fifth position. The Maldives ended the competition sixth.

The final match will see Turkmenistan face Afghanistan as the CAVA Cup concludes in Dhaka.
