Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) expressed profound shock at the casualties resulting from a tragic Bangladesh Air Force F‑7 training jet crash on Monday, 21 July, near Milestone School and College in Dhaka’s Uttara district. The incident claimed at least one life and injured more than 100 individuals, including children, fire officials, and military sources confirmed.
The aircraft reportedly took off at around 1:06 pm and went down approximately 24 minutes later, striking a three-storey building on the school campus. Emergency responders, including the fire service, army and civil defence teams, rushed to the scene. A charred body was recovered, and many students and staff suffered severe burn injuries; at least six or seven pupils were among the critically injured.
Fire official Lima Khan stated that at least one person died and four others were injured in the crash. Following the catastrophe, rescue operations intensified; injured victims have been transported to nearby hospitals, with some requiring specialised burns treatment.
In a sincere statement, the Bangladesh Cricket Board extended its deepest condolences to the families of the deceased and conveyed heartfelt prayers and thoughts to all those affected in this harrowing event.
The Bangladesh Air Force has launched an investigation into the cause of the crash. Meanwhile, the pilot’s fate remains unclear; some unconfirmed reports suggested the pilot ejected before impact, but official confirmation is pending.
