The first meeting of Bangladesh-China Parliamentary Friendship Group of 13th National Parliament was held at the National Parliament on Tuesday.
The meeting was presided over by the Chairman of the committee, Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain. The session commenced with the introduction of members followed by preliminary discussions.
During the meeting, committee members discussed long-standing friendly relations between China and Bangladesh and reviewed the geopolitical importance of China.
Comprehensive discussions were held regarding strategic partnership between the two nations, exchange of bilateral visits by parliamentary delegations, and necessity of increasing investment to reduce trade deficit.
The meeting was attended by committee members Md Shahidul Islam, Md Hasan Rajib Prodhan, Zohrat Adib Chowdhury, Mahmuda Habiba, Mohammad Nazibur Rahman, Mohammad Mosleh Uddin Farid, and Md Abul Hasnat.
Senior officials from the National Parliament Secretariat and Ministry of Foreign Affairs were also present at the session.
