Bangladesh Bank officials have warned that they will go on strike from Thursday, demanding resignation of the governor if their demands are not met.
Their demands include the withdrawal of officials’ transfers and the cancellation of all contractual appointments at Bangladesh Bank.
The strike announcement came at a protest meeting held at the office of Bangladesh Bank on Wednesday. Officials said that if their demands were not fulfilled by the end of the day, they will begin the work stoppage on Thursday.
Following the meeting, the officials also staged a protest rally.
