Popular director Kajal Arefin Ome has returned to work after recovering from a throat polyp. Marking his comeback, the much-awaited Chapter 13 of the hit drama series Bachelor Point Season 5 premiered on streaming platform Bongo on Thursday, 9 July. The first four episodes of the new chapter are now available for viewers.
Ome developed throat complications caused by a polyp while filming the series. Following specialist medical advice, he temporarily suspended shooting. Doctors also instructed him to remain on complete vocal rest and avoid speaking, forcing him to pause production. As a result, filming for Chapter 13 took longer than planned and its scheduled release was postponed.
Despite not making a full recovery, the director resumed work on a limited basis to avoid disappointing viewers. He later completed the remaining shoot, paving the way for the release of the new chapter.
The latest instalment introduces a different flavour by placing the familiar Bachelor Point characters in a football World Cup setting. Wearing Brazil and Argentina jerseys, they take part in an intense football match that the makers describe as the “Most Wanted Match: Argentina vs Brazil”.
As announced earlier by the director, the first four episodes of Chapter 13, covering episodes 97 to 100, were released on Bongo on Thursday. The remaining four episodes, numbered 101 to 104, will premiere on 16 July.
Ome’s return after illness, combined with the football-themed storyline, has already generated fresh excitement among viewers. Packed with the series’ signature humour, everyday moments and the thrill of a football showdown, the new chapter is now streaming on the Bongo app and website.
