Bangladesh Cricket Board’s grounds committee chairman Rafiqul Islam Babu told the media that Bangladesh will prepare good wickets with some home advantage for the upcoming series against New Zealand, while keeping international standards intact.
Bangladesh will soon host New Zealand for a home series. Work is going on at two venues. The new ad hoc committee is taking steps through its grounds division to improve pitch and field conditions.
Rafiqul said, “We want good wickets where both teams can play comfortably. There will be no compromise on international standards.”
Rain is a big concern for the board. So they are focusing more on drainage, covering systems and the outfield.
He added, “We discussed these today. We have asked for reports within the next two days on the condition of every ground selected for domestic and international matches. After getting the reports, we will take the necessary steps. Time is short, but I strongly believe we can fix things if we have the intent.”
