Pakistani singer Atif Aslam is set to return to Bangladesh for a concert in the capital, organisers have announced, reviving an event that was postponed last year due to security concerns.
The concert, titled ‘Main Stage Show Featuring Atif Aslam’, is scheduled to take place on 24 July. Organisers said the event fulfils a commitment made after the postponement of the singer’s previously planned performance in Dhaka.
Atif Aslam had originally been due to perform in the city on 13 December last year. Although ticket sales had been completed and preparations, including stage construction, were nearly finished, the concert was postponed two days before the event following instructions from the relevant authorities amid security concerns that emerged after the announcement of the national election schedule.
According to the organisers, ticket holders from the postponed 2025 concert who did not request refunds will not need to purchase new tickets. They will be able to apply through a designated process and, following verification, new tickets will be issued in their names at no additional cost.
After the postponement, organisers said the concert had not been cancelled and would be rescheduled when conditions allowed.
At the time, Atif Aslam also addressed Bangladeshi fans through a message on his official Facebook page, stating that he would return to Bangladesh and that tickets purchased for the original concert would remain valid for the rescheduled event.
Organisers have now confirmed that the promised return is moving forward. They said all necessary government approvals, security clearances and other formalities have already been completed.
The venue for the concert is expected to be announced shortly.
