Bangladesh may be absent from the field in this year’s T20 World Cup after declining to travel to India, but the nation will still be represented in the commentary box. Athar Ali Khan has been confirmed as part of the ICC’s official commentary team for the tournament.
The tenth edition of the T20 World Cup, jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka, begins on Saturday, 7 February. The ICC released the full list of commentators today, featuring some of the most experienced and recognised voices in international cricket.
The lead panel includes Ravi Shastri, Nasser Hussain, Ian Smith, and Ian Bishop, alongside Aaron Finch, Dinesh Karthik, Kumar Sangakkara, Samuel Badree, Robin Uthappa, Carlos Brathwaite, Eoin Morgan, Wasim Akram, Sunil Gavaskar, Matthew Hayden, Ramiz Raja, Dale Steyn, Michael Atherton, Waqar Younis, Simon Doull, Shaun Pollock, and Cathy Martin.
India and Sri Lanka’s broadcast teams also feature Harsha Bhogle, Natali Germanos, Danny Morrison, Allan Wilkins, Ian Ward, Mark Howard, Nick Knight, Athar Ali Khan, Kass Naidu, Bajid Khan, Rounak Kapoor, and Neil O’Brien.
Notably, former 2014 T20 World Cup winner Angelo Mathews and 2025 World Test Championship-winning captain Temba Bavuma will make their commentary debut on ICC TV, adding further star power to the tournament’s coverage.
Bangladesh fans will now have a voice in the global broadcast, even as the team misses out on match action, ensuring the country remains visible throughout the World Cup.
