A newly discovered teaser has sparked fresh speculation about Assassin’s Creed Hexe, offering what many fans believe is the clearest glimpse yet of Ubisoft’s next mainline Assassin’s Creed title. According to ScreenRant, the game remains largely under wraps despite Ubisoft revealing a handful of teasers over the past few years.
Although Ubisoft has confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Hexe is in development, the studio has released very little official information. The lack of details has left fans eager to learn more about the game’s setting, gameplay and how it will differ from the franchise’s recent entries.
Recent leaks have suggested several key details about the title. While none has been officially confirmed, a newly spotted piece of gameplay has renewed discussion. It appears to reveal an important location connected to the game, along with the historical period and major event that could shape its story.
The teaser comes through Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, which reintroduces the Rift missions first seen in Assassin’s Creed: Shadows. In these missions, players are guided by a sentient AI known as EGO through alternate “What If” scenarios based on significant moments from characters’ lives.
During the fourth and final Rift, titled True Purpose, players enter the Animus and encounter a collection of iconic buildings representing different eras of the Assassin’s Creed universe. The sequence includes an ancient Greek temple, a Nordic longhouse, a pyramid, a mosque and a Japanese castle, referencing Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Valhalla, Origins, Mirage and Shadows respectively.
Among those landmarks, however, is a Gothic cathedral that does not belong to any of the recent RPG titles. Fans believe the structure closely resembles St. Lorenz Church in the German city of Nuremberg, leading many to speculate that it is an early tease for Assassin’s Creed Hexe.
Previous reports, including one by Bloomberg, claimed that Hexe would focus on the witch hunts of the Holy Roman Empire during the 16th century in what is now modern-day Germany. Other leaks suggested Würzburg as the game’s primary setting, a city associated with one of history’s largest witch trials between 1625 and 1631.
The appearance of a structure resembling St. Lorenz during a sequence referencing other modern Assassin’s Creed games has strengthened those theories. Many fans believe it supports earlier rumours linking the game to Germany and the historical witch hunts. However, those claims remain unconfirmed and should be treated with caution.
Even so, the teaser has generated fresh excitement among fans waiting for official details. While this is not the first reported leak related to Assassin’s Creed Hexe, many believe it offers the strongest indication yet of the game’s direction. Ubisoft has not announced when it will fully unveil the title, but until then, the Black Flag Resynced teaser continues to fuel speculation. According to ScreenRant.
