The inaugural ceremony of the ICAO-accredited Aviation Security National Inspectors (ASNI) Course, organised by the Civil Aviation Academy in collaboration with International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), was held on Monday.
Air Commodore Abu Sayeed Mehboob Khan, Member (Operations and Planning) of Civil Aviation Authority Bangladesh (CAAB) was present as the chief guest and Air Commodore Md Asif Iqbal, Member (Security) of CAAB attended as the special guest.
In addition, Director of Civil Aviation Academy Prashant Kumar Chakraborty and ICAO-accredited Trainer and Course Instructor Mohammad Alamgir were present at the ceremony, held at the Civil Aviation Academy.
Director of Civil Aviation Academy Prashant Kumar Chakraborty welcomed the participants and said that such a course will play an important role in strengthening and making the country’s civil aviation security system more effective.
This course on aviation security has been organized by ICAO for the first time under the auspices of ICAO with ICAO TRAINAIR FRAMEWORK and ICAO has nominated Bangladesh Civil Aviation Academy as its organizing institution.
The chief guest, Air Commodore Abu Sayeed Mehboob Khan highlighted the importance of creating skilled and trained inspectors to face the growing challenges of the civil aviation security system.
ICAO trainer Mohammad Alamgir said the training programme will help aviation security inspectors enhance their professional skills, develop oversight capabilities and play an effective role in following international standards.
A total of 12 aviation security inspectors from different countries including Bangladesh are participating in this two-week course.
Through the training, participants will have the opportunity to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills in aviation security inspections, supervisory activities, evaluation methods and following international standards.
