Oscar-winning Indian composer AR Rahman has applauded Bangladeshi musicians Shuvendu Das Shuvo and Nandita Mahmood by sharing their performance on his Instagram Story, marking a major milestone in the duo’s musical journey.
Shuvo and Nandita perform under the music project Moji & Co Over the past one and a half years, they have earned praise from listeners by presenting fresh interpretations of classic popular songs.
Their latest cover of Saawariya, originally composed by Rahman, caught the legendary musician’s attention. Impressed by the performance, he shared it on his Instagram Story.
Reacting to the recognition, Shuvo said, “I grew up listening to AR Rahman’s music. His work has always inspired me. Knowing that he listened to our performance and shared it on his social media is truly an incredible feeling.”
Nandita also shared a screenshot of Rahman’s Instagram Story on her own social media account. Expressing her excitement, she wrote, “Am I dreaming? Somebody please pinch me! This memory will remain a lifelong inspiration.”
Nandita rose to prominence with Bulbuli, one of the most popular songs from Coke Studio Bangla. The track was arranged by Shuvendu Das Shuvo. Since then, the duo’s creative collaborations have continued to win appreciation from music lovers.
