Popular television actor Ziaul Faruq Apurba celebrated his 42nd birthday on 27 June, a day made even more special as he shares the occasion with his only son, Zayan Faruq Ayash.
Born on 27 June 1985, Apurba completed 41 years and stepped into his 42nd year. The actor received an outpouring of birthday wishes on social media from fans, fellow artistes, directors and well-wishers, many of whom shared old photographs and memories to mark the occasion.
Apurba began his journey in the entertainment industry in 2002 after being crowned Mr Bangladesh in the ‘You Got the Looks’ competition. He later gained attention through a television commercial directed by Amitabh Reza Chowdhury before making his acting debut in 2006 with Gazi Rakayet’s television drama ‘Boibahik’.
Over nearly two decades, Apurba has appeared in numerous popular television dramas and telefilms. One of the defining moments of his career came in 2017 with Mizanur Rahman Aryan’s ‘Boro Chele’c in which he portrayed a middle class young man. The drama received widespread acclaim and became so popular that many viewers began referring to him as “Boro Chele”.
His personal life has also seen several milestones. Apurba was first married to actress Sadia Jahan Prova and later to Nazia Hasan Aditi. His son, Zayan Faruq Ayash, was born during his second marriage. He is now married to US based Shamma Dewan, and the couple welcomed their daughter, Anaya, in December 2025.
His latest release is the mystery thriller web film ‘Headline’, in which he stars alongside Yash Rohan, Sarika Sabrin and Chanchal Chowdhury. The production has been receiving a positive response from audiences since its release.
Speaking previously about sharing his birthday with his son, Apurba said, “I am very happy that my son and I celebrate our birthdays on the same day.”
