Bangladesh’s para-athletes delivered a landmark performance at the Asian Youth Para Games in Dubai, winning two gold medals and one bronze in one of the country’s most successful outings at the event.
The medal run began a day earlier when Chaiti Rani Deb claimed gold in the javelin throw with a best effort of 11 metres. On Saturday, Bangladesh added three more medals to their tally. Md Shahidullah won gold in the 50m freestyle and followed it up with a bronze in the 100m freestyle.
Bangladesh also secured a medal in women’s wheelchair basketball, marking a significant milestone for the National Paralympic Committee of Bangladesh (NPC).
The medal-winning contingent will return home on Monday, arriving at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 11.00am.
